Area of Operations
The Galway Mountain Rescue Team provides a volunteer search and rescue service covering the upland and mountainous regions of counties Galway and Clare (9,295 square kilometres). While the team covers all of the upland, remote areas situated within Galway and Clare, the vast majority of the team’s call-outs tend to centre around two distinct geographical regions, Connemara (the Twelve Bens and the Maumturks) and the Burren.
