5th September 2010 – Stand by - Croagh Patrick
The team was requested by Mayo MRT to provide cover during their fundraising mini-marathon. Two parties spent the afternoon patrolling the Reek, with no incidents.
28th August 2010 – Standby – Croagh Patrick
Mayo MRT requested assistance from Galway MRT as they received two call outs on the Reek at the same time. The Galway team were put on standby while Mayo assessed the situation. No further assessment were required.
7th August 2010 – Search – Binn Bhreac
The team were requested by Gardai to conduct a search at midnight following a sighting of a green flare in the air above Binn Bhreac. Search parties were deployed to the area and searched through the night. The team stood down at 7am.
1st August 2010 – Standby – Mam Ean
The Team were on standby at the annual pilgrimage at Mam Ean, where we assisted a pilgrim who fainted during mass.
25th July 2010 – Standby – Croagh Patrick
The team assisted Mayo MRT during the annual Reek Sunday pilgrimage on Croagh Patrick. We provided minor assistance to many pilgrims on the mountain and carried one casualty, with a suspected broken collarbone, from just below the summit down to the ambulance waiting at base.
12th July 2010 – Call out - Corcog
The team was requested by Clifden gardai to search for a man who had not returned home from a days walking. Following a search by the team and two SARDA dog teams, the man’s body was located at the bottom of the cliffs at Aill na lady, Corcog. An Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) helicopter from Shannon was unable to reach the casualty location but did assist with transporting equipment and personnel onto the hill. The team recovered and carried the body to the road for transfer to University Hospital Galway.
29th June 2010 - Callout - Leenane
The Team were tasked to assist a Health Services Executive (HSE) ambulance crew responding to a woman who had fallen ill on the Western Way west of Leenane village. The woman was brought to the road in a car by members of her party and returned home unaided.
10th April 2010 - Callout - Diamond Hill
The Team were tasked to assist a woman who injured herself near the summit of Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park. A member of the team was already on the mountain and she quickly located the site of the incident. It transpired that the woman in question had an old injury which flared up making it extremely difficult for her to move. She and her party were successfully assisted off the mountain by two team members while a stretcher party remained on standby.
2nd April 2010 - Standby - Mam Ean
The Team were on standby to assist pilgrims on the annual Good Friday pilgrimage to Leaba Phadraig. While descending from the pass a young woman fell and suffered a lower leg injury. The team stretchered her to the road where she was handed over to the Leenane-Maam red Cross unit who transported her to hospital

2nd April 2010 - Callout - Ben Leitiri
The Team were called out to an incident on Binn Leitiri, Connemara at approximately 14:25. A male member of a group of walkers had suffered a lower limb injury and was unable to walk off. The group provided the team with a grid reference for their location. Meanwhile, a group of GMRT members had been walking in the area and were making their descent when the callout came through. They made their way to the incident location and administered first aid to the casualty, who had suffered an ankle injury, but was in good spirits. The rest of the team made their way to the incident with a stretcher. The casualty was evacuated to the roadside by 18:30 that evening and went for medical treatment. The team was stood down.
28th February 2010 - Standby - Ben Leitiri
The Team were alerted by Clifden Gardai at approximately 19:45 that a member of the public had seen flashing lights on Binn Leitiri, Connemara, whilst driving from Roundstone toward Galway. The team were put on Standby while the Gardai gathered more information. Gardai were able to confirm that 2 hillwalkers were decending from the mountain behind the Youth Hostel and that no assistance was required. The team was stood down.
